Brief introduction

This database comprises the basic information and capacity statistics about 8,800-plus coalmines located in China's 25 coal-production provinces/autonomous regions/municipalities. They have total capacity of 5,600 Mt/a.

All the data herein are split by mine state and coal type. There are 6,300-plus operating mines (with combined capacity of around 3,800 Mt/a), and 2,500-plus under-construction mines (incl. approved and unapproved) with combined capacity of around 1,800 Mt/a.
